Back to Reality

So, the Dreadmill Drummer is now a married man.  And I couldn't be happier!  I am now married to the love of my life and one of the reasons I run.  My bride and I had an amazing time on our honeymoon.  We chose to go to Breckenridge, Colorado and it was beautiful there!  We didn't like the fact that we both got sick from the altitude change.  Going from a city that is 1,090 feet above sea level to a town that is 9,600 feet above sea level doesn't bode that well for the body.  Once we got past the initial sickness we had a great time!  We went zip lining, white water rafting, and horseback riding on a trail.

The view outside of our room at the lodge.
My bride and I on the zip line tour.
One of the zip lines literally down the mountain over one of the many streams.
A view as we were white water rafting.  This is where I got my sun burn on my legs.
My bride and I after we took to shore for lunch.
Hey look!!! My Bedrock Sandals made it on the rafting trip with me!

Our awesome rafting guide Kaywin.  He also served as the chef for lunch!

At the stables before our trail ride.

Candice wasn't listening to the Ghostbusters and she was "crossing the streams."

Hey, that's me on a horse!!!

For a wedding present my awesome dad came over and refinished  bridge that he had built me some time back.  He also laid some bedrock and laid out more of the stone path to my back door.

He also added Jocelynn, Bella, and Ryan to the list of my children's names on the bridge
where previously just Caden and Sierra resided.

The only thing at the moment that I regret is being so far behind on posts.  I had a post about Mud Factor that was almost done that I was going to publish, but when I went to finish it all was gone except the first sentence.  I couldn't believe it.  I have started a few other posts, but haven't got to finishing them either.  So, I pledge to be more adamant about posting now that the major event of my life is done and the next chapter of my life is being written.  So, since my chapter is being written I may as well write too.  Right?!  Well, I'm going to anyway.

My sunburn from rafting is nearly healed; and it has peeled most of the way.  So, today I am back to running.  I have to get back into the groove of things.  I also have to get my training going pretty good.  I have a few really challenging runs coming up later this year and more that I'm hoping to add to the list.  I've got Tough Mudder happening towards the end of September, Spartan in mid-October, and then the 2nd Annual G.O.A.T.z Trail Runs and G.O.A.T.z 50k where I'm challenging myself to run the 21 miler at the end of October.  I'm also looking to add the Glow Run 5k in August.  So, as you can see I need to get back to running.

Until next time, keep those beats coming!

    1. Thanks! The zip lining was a lot of fun! It's something we intend on doing again and even taking our kids to do.

I'm looking forward to Tough Mudder. Especially since we have a good sized group running it together; it should make it harder to think about quitting. Not that I would do that.
